Dancing is a lot like walking, and part of learning to dance is putting natural movements into patterns to create steps and dances. Most people have natural rhythm, and through instruction, you will be able to put the steps you learn to the music. Even if you think you have two left feet, you will be surprised to see how easy and natural it will feel to get on the dance floor. Our instructors are trained to make the learning process as fun and easy as possible. If you feel like you might need a little extra help to get started, just call the location closest to you and we will get you set up for a private lesson to get you feeling more comfortable.
Private lessons are personalized sessions with our instructors. You will work one-on-one with a teacher, focusing on learning the steps, while also improving more technical aspects of your dancing that require more personalized attention. In private lessons, our teachers are able to help students with leading and following, proper footwork, musical timing and interpretation, and all of the other details that go into making someone a great dancer. Private lessons are scheduled in advance, and we do our best to accomodate students' scheduling needs.
Don't have a partner? Don't worry! Many of our students come in without partners and dance with our instructors during private lessons.
For more information on Private lessons, call the studio closest to you for all the details on rates and schedule availability. You can also fill out the form on our Contact Us page and we will be happy to answer any questions.
Group classes are drop-in sessions at our studios, or in the community, where instructors teach a group of students all together. These sessions are great for students who want to learn something new, practice their technical skills, and meet new people. They are also a very easy way for new or prospective students to get acquainted with out instructors and the dances we teach. We do not sell passes or packages of group classes, which means you are free to pick and choose what sounds like fun.

Lesson length depends on the format. Group Classes are approximately one hour long, unless otherwise stated in the group descriptions. For our calendar, please click one of the links:
Private lessons are a bit more customizable in time length. Based on level and learning styles, we offer 30-minute or 60-minute lessons. We recommend that any student who is new to dancing start with a 30 minute session. This time length allows for optimum learning the first few times you come into the studio, and also allows our instructors to assess your goals and strengths. However, students are free to jump back and forth between time lengths based on schedule needs.
Whether you are interested in private lessons or group classes, you never need a partner at our studios. In private lessons, you will dance with one of our instructors, learning not only the steps, but also focusing on lead/follow, footwork, and timing, so that you will have the ability to dance with any partner on any dance floor. In group classes, our format of rotating partners means that you be able to dance even if you come on your own.
We have no official dress code in the studio, but we recommend that you dress comfortably, in clothing that allows freedom of movement. For footwear, we recommend comfortable shoes that you feel balanced wearing. Ladies are not required to wear heels. Try to avoid flip-flops or any open backed shoes because they will restrict movement. Dancing should feel comfortable and natural, and your clothing/footwear should allow that.
If you need specific directions, please call the phone number of the studio you are trying to get to. Phone numbers are listed at the top of the screen in the banner.
Our standard group class rate is $7 per person for each class. We do not sell packages or passes for these classes. Specialized class rates may be different, so be sure to check out the calendar for more information.
Our private lesson prices range between $75 and $85 per hour. Half hour rates are also available. Call the studio closest to you for specific rates and specials.
